Research Interest Summary

Plant-microbiome, host-pathogen interactions

Research Interests

The Haney lab is interested in how hosts and microbes navigate the continuum of symbiotic interactions from pathogenic to mutualistic. We use bacteria in the genus Pseudomonas, which include mutualists, commensals, and opportunistic pathogens, and study the genetic, genomic, and environmental factors that drive lifestyle transitions.  We study associations with the model plant Arabidopsis as well as conserved virulence and infection strategies across plants and animals.
